本日はチェーンセットの取り付け方法をご紹介いたします。
ペンダントにチェーンセットを取り付ける際は、下の画像のようにペンチを使って丸カンをゆっくり開いてください。
チェーンを通した後、丸カンを元の形に戻してしっかり閉じていただくことで装着が可能です。
この作業には、鷲見本人は“Keiba Pro Hobby Nipper”ペンチを愛用しています。

より傷を付けにくくする上級者向けの方法として、鷲見はあらかじめペンチの内側を紙ヤスリで軽くスムージングし、表面を滑らかにしてから使用することをおすすめしています。詳しくは下の写真をご覧ください。
鷲見が教えるマルカン装着のコツ
プライヤーでマルカンを掴んだら、マルカンを開くまたは閉じる間はしっかりと手で圧力を加え続け、掴んだら緩めないことがコツ。
プライヤーでのマルカンの咥え方が弱いとマルカンを開く作業中にマルカンとプライヤーの間で隙間ができ、それが原因でマルカンに傷が付きます。
ガタが無い様にしっかりと咥えて（プライヤーがマルカンを掴んでいる）いれば、マルカンがプライヤーの中で遊ぶ事が無く傷が付き難いです。
How to Attach Your Chain Set
To attach a chain set to your pendant, carefully open the jump ring using a pair of pliers, as shown in the image below.
Once the chain has been inserted, gently return the jump ring to its original shape and ensure it is fully closed to secure the attachment.

Advanced Tip
To help minimize the risk of scratching the jump ring, Taro recommends lightly smoothing the inside surfaces of the pliers with fine sandpaper before use. This creates a smoother contact surface and helps protect the finish of the metal.

Taro’s Tips for Working with Jump Rings
When gripping a jump ring with pliers, maintain firm and consistent pressure throughout the entire opening or closing process. Once the pliers are in position, avoid loosening your grip.
If the jump ring is not held securely, a small gap can form between the pliers and the jump ring while opening it. This movement may cause the metal to shift inside the jaws of the pliers, resulting in scratches.
By holding the jump ring firmly so that there is no play or movement, the ring remains stable within the pliers, significantly reducing the chance of marking or scratching the surface.
