Signature Materials
At TaroWashimi, great care is taken in the selection of every material used. From precious metals and leather to gemstones, each material possesses its own unique characteristics — whether it be the hardness and color tone created by different metal compositions, the durability determined by the part of the leather used, or the way a gemstone reflects light depending on its cut. Through continuous research and refinement, the optimal balance is carefully chosen from countless possibilities to bring out the fullest beauty and character of each creation.
TaroWashimi Pink Gold
The beautifully distinctive color of TaroWashimi’s original pink gold alloy, developed through a unique proprietary blend, brings both elegance and brilliance to each piece while offering a genderless appeal that can be worn naturally by anyone. Although this material is extremely difficult to work with, it plays an essential role in achieving the overall quality of the creations. Every aspect is carefully considered so that its true beauty is fully expressed when worn by the customer.
Gemstones
TaroWashimi works with an extensive variety of gemstones. In addition to traditional stones associated with Native American jewelry, such as turquoise, the brand was also among the first to incorporate materials like opal, coral, amber, and topaz, challenging conventional boundaries within the genre. Alongside essential jewelry stones such as diamonds, rubies, sapphires, amethyst, and garnet, rare gemstones including Paraiba tourmaline are also carefully selected and used.
Beyond the choice of stone itself, details such as the cut, size, and setting techniques are meticulously adjusted to complement each individual piece. Every element is selected and crafted according to standards that uphold the quality and character of the work as a whole.
Champagne Pink Material
Compared to solid K18 pink gold, this material offers a more accessible option while still achieving a beautifully rich pink hue. Through a special finishing process, the natural color of the metal is carefully brought out to its fullest expression. It is a highly distinctive material unique to TaroWashimi, unlike anything found elsewhere.
Saddle Leather
Originally developed for use in horse saddles and tack, saddle leather is known for its substantial thickness, firmness, and exceptional durability, allowing it to be enjoyed for many years. Over time, the leather gradually conforms to the wearer through body heat and use, creating an increasingly comfortable and personalized fit. It is an ideal material for experiencing and appreciating TaroWashimi creations over the long term.
