北京で開催されたイベントで、鷲見はファンの皆様に特別なサプライズを届けました。それは、すべて手作業で制作された5点の一点物のフェザーです。
鷲見がフェザーを制作する姿を見ていると、思わず息を止めてしまうような緊張感があります。ハンマーで一本一本のラインを刻んでいく音には、美しいリズムがあります。まるで音楽のように、トン、トン、トン、間、トン、間、トン。フェザーの一部には深くはっきりとしたラインが刻まれ、あえてラインを入れずに残された部分もあります。その余白が金属に光を受けさせ、羽根に輝きや反射があるような表情を生み出しています。そして、フェザーの一本一本の曲線を丁寧に切り出し、形づくっていくとき、その場には小さな動きさえも大切に感じられる静かな緊張感が漂います。
本物のイーグルフェザーは、一見すると完璧に見えるかもしれません。しかし自然のものはすべてそうであるように、一枚一枚が異なります。よく見ると、そこには必ずわずかな違いがあります。鷲見は、このメタルフェザーを自分の考える自然の姿にできる限り近づけたいと考えました。均一で完璧なものではなく、それぞれが個性を持ち、命を感じさせるものとして。
今回のフェザーでは、中央を走る芯の終わりの位置も、先端より少し手前で止めています。本物のフェザーでは、先端に近づくほど芯が非常に細くなっていきます。その繊細さを、自分の作品の中で最も自然な形で表現したいと鷲見は考えました。
このフェザーのもう一つの特徴は、3種類の素材を組み合わせることで生まれる美しいグラデーションです。3色を組み合わせるというアイデアは、長年TaroWashimiをご愛用いただいているお客様との会話の中から生まれました。こうした作品は、技術だけで実現できるものではありません。試行錯誤を重ねながら磨き上げ、形になるためのタイミングが揃って初めて完成へと辿り着きます。
これらの一点物フェザーは特別な作品として製作されたものですが、その発想から生まれたのが新作の「3-Part Feather, Harmony」コレクションです。3種類の素材が織りなす美しい色の移り変わりや、それぞれの素材が持つ個性を楽しんでいただける新たなフライトフェザーとして誕生しました。
「3-Part Feather, Harmony」コレクションは、2026年6月8日（月）より、TaroWashimi公式サイトおよび各店舗にてカスタムオーダーの受付を開始いたします。
A One-of-a-Kind Feather
At the Beijing event, Taro surprised fans with something truly special: five one-of-a-kind feathers, each created entirely by hand.
Watching Taro make a feather is almost like having to hold your breath. The rhythm of the hammer as he stamps each line has a beautiful sound, almost like music: stamp, stamp, stamp, pause, stamp, pause, stamp. Some parts of the feather are stamped with deep, clear lines, while other areas are deliberately left untouched, allowing the metal to catch the light and create the feeling of shine or reflection. Then, as he carefully cuts and shapes each bend of the feather, there is a quiet tension in the air, as if even the smallest movement matters.
Real eagle feathers may appear perfect at first glance, but like everything in nature, each one is unique. When you look closely, there are always slight differences. Taro wanted these metal feathers to feel as close as possible to his idea of nature: not perfectly uniform, but alive with individuality.
For these feathers, Taro also ended the central shaft slightly higher from the tip. He felt that on real feathers, the shaft becomes extremely fine toward the end, and he wanted his work to express that feeling in the most natural way possible.
Another special feature of these feathers is the use of three different materials, creating a beautiful gradation of color. The idea of combining three colors originated from one of Taro’s longtime collectors. Like many meaningful creations, bringing the idea to life required not only craftsmanship, but also patience, refinement, and the right moment.
While these one-of-a-kind pieces remain exclusive creations, the concept has inspired the development of the new 3-Part Feather Harmony series. Designed to capture the same beauty of three-material composition and color transition, it offers collectors a new way to experience this unique expression within the Flight Feather collection.
The 3-Part Feather Harmony collection will be released on Monday, June 8, 2026, and will be available for custom order through the TaroWashimi website and in stores.
